Walking back to happiness....

Remember the old song? Well I'm referring to Handmade Happiness www.jennystacy.co.uk which is now fixed!! If you found me here at Seeing Happy while I was unable to post to my original blog please forgive me for duplicating some posts from this blog.
But from now on I'll be posting daily onto the link above. And your comments on anything and everything are sooo welcome. Thank you.

Spotted...

This very pretty packaging for healthy tea drinks. You'd never throw one of these bottles away would you?
One of the interesting things when travelling is to look at how other countries package their foods. And then to save nice bits of paper for collage (this is not compulsory ... and my daughter has been known to throw my carefully salvaged colourful bits of paper in the bin before travelling home!!!)

Love this ekta fabric!

This is a silk cotton mix by ekta.
Tricot Too, Petersfield, where I work, stocks a long cardigan and long tunic in this design. It also comes in deep pinks.
Tricot stocks a wide range of clothes for women looking for something different with quirky or unusual details. Definetely worth a look if you're in the area. There is also Tricot Designs in Arundel. A separate business but similar clothes and also worth a visit.

Dolls

These are dolls I've made. I'm hoping to make some more small ones (third along) tomorrow (Sunday) before they'll be offered for sale at Harting Festivities.

Yesterday I spent the entire day making bunting. Mine has a red pompom at the point of each triangle.

I took a picture of it for the blog but as well as being unable to publish to Handmade Happiness at the moment the camera downloader on Picasa is also not working so ho hum I'm hoping that all will right itself soon.

Harting Festivities

I'll be selling my makes at South Harting on Monday. It's the village's annual festivities when the bunting comes out, the bands play, the fun fair comes to town and gardeners sell their surplus. My friend Chris, who makes bread boards and I will have tables somewhere along the High Street. The whole population comes out to enjoy themselves and catch up with their neighbours and lots of people visit from nearby towns and villages.
I remember asking this band where they get their splendid jackets from. That's right, they buy second hand uniform from the Coldstream Guards.

Tulips

I found these tulips reduced at Waitrose.
They might be dying but they are still incredibly beautiful. If I visit the supermarket at night before it closes flowers are often reduced right down. 29p is a favourite price. And I love to have flowers in vases round my home. It makes an incredible difference to a room to add fresh flowers. An instant lift.
At the moment the garden is supplying me with lots of roses and soon the sweetpeas will be ready to pick. But any sort of flower at all is worth buying for 29p a bunch!

Yarns

One of life's pleasures is to choose yarns. The colours and textures and curious names.
Milk for instance. They are making yarn from one of the by products of milk production. Then there's the soft 'bamboo' yarns, silk and cotton yarns and wonderful Japanese changing colour as you knit yarns.

I've made thirteen of these brooches so far. Just knitting in the evening. This picture was on Handmade Happiness but it's one of the posts that has disappeared.

My favourite place to buy yarn is John Lewis. Ideally the London one aka Peter Jones and then a cup of tea afterwards looking down on the rooftops of London from their fifth floor cafeteria.
